Progress update Insanity Max 30: Week 2 & 3

Whew- boy am I glad Superbowl is OVER WITH. I totally over ate and felt miserable last Monday. I know I am not the only one!  I am so excited to be almost done with the first month of Max 30. These past 2 weeks have been a bit of a struggle with wanting to sleep in at least one day and make up on the weekend. Week 2 that make up didn't happen but did with week 3. Week 4 will be different because I will be getting up during the week and getting all my workouts done during the week and saving the weekend to relax.

I have LOVED this program. I lost some of my upper body strength when I stopped Body Beast and am gaining that back and can tell in the past 2 weeks with my push ups. Once again, I am modifying the moves and substituting any abs workouts for more pushups or squats. These workouts are tough but I am determined to do what I can without pushing myself too hard. My "max out" times are getting better. On some of the workouts, I have gained minutes. I couldn't believe it!  I can not wait to do this program to the MAX once baby comes and I am cleared to workout.
Week 2 Meal Plan
For the nutrition aspect of it, I am following it as much as I can. I could be doing better.  Just looking to get what I need in each day. I have gained weight so I will be going to increase the containers from the under 150 to over 150 starting next week.

As you can see I am a creature of habit and love having the same breakfast and snacks each week. I always tell people to find something you love that makes you fee great, and you won't even notice you have it every day.  Staying on track during the work week has been so hard because we have the infamous candy bowl which I sit near. Having my Shakeology for lunch has really curbed my sweet tooth cravings I usually get in the afternoons. If I feel other ones coming on, I just pop sugar free gum in my mouth and I will be good.

Week 3 Meal Plan

As the past 2 weeks have ended, and week 4 begins, I am ready to take it on with better nutrition & workouts Monday through Friday and weekends to relax! Giving myself major props for sticking with this at 20 weeks pregnant! Never would I have imagined I would be doing this type of program, this far into my pregnancy and feeling AMAZING!!!

See ya next week!

Weeks 10-16 PLUS our 2nd & 3rd Dr appointment

We have FINALLY crossed into the 2nd trimester!  WHOOP! I can definitely tell you I am starting to get the hang of this pregnancy thing. I can not believe how fast this is going. It makes me sad honestly. Even though, I have vocally been unsure on every feeling my body given me and a little weirded out by it, I love being pregnant. I have embraced it and still can't believe this is happening.

Guess who's eating for 2?!
Well, we have officially told everyone. We finished up telling out families on Thanksgiving. my husband didn't want to do anything crazy to tell his family. However, I was dying to do something fun  for one of them so it was mine. lol.

10 weeks on Thanksgiving
The feeling of being sick at night has slowly suppressed over the weeks and I have be learning what I can and CAN NOT eat right before bed.

Cravings: I am still having a bowl of cereal every morning before I workout. Besides that, no huge cravings.
Get that away from me: I tried my favoriate  Orange chicken and fried rice from Trader Joe's and wanted nothing to do with it :( . I didn't try no more then 2 bites because I don't want to hate it when i go to try in again.

2nd doctor appointment: December 8, 2014:
Appointment went well. We met with a practitioner in the office that gave us a lot baby information. A bit overwhelming but we've had some time to look over it and digest it.  The practitioner had a little trouble finding the heartbeat so we had another ultrasound and everything was AMAZING. Heartbeat was 173.

Auntie Kelly gave Baby B some new outfits.
3rd doctor appointment: January 5, 2014:
The doctor had no problem finding the heart beat. Strong at 150. He also said the little ruffles in the sound of the ultrasound meant that baby was kicking. Gosh, I didn't know my heart could grow much bigger. I am so in love with this little one already!

Well we've made it through the Holidays with little exhaustion but it was VERY overwhelming for me this year. We are so busy on Christmas Eve and Day. I couldn't wait for Christmas Night to spend with just Nick and I after all the craziness. With my hormones going crazy, my anxiety through the roof, wrapping paper being thrown every direction. It sad to say this because I am not normally like this at all, but I was ready for this Holiday season to be over with.

This sums up my shopping trips.
Growing belly....
Nothing is more frustrating then your clothes not fitting and you can not find anything when you go shopping. I am still rocking the hair tie on my button of my pants. Last week, it started to get comfortable, so I have started to look for jeans. I don't have many winter clothes to begin with, so with a growing baby in my belly, is not making this any easier. I can not wait until its warmer out so I can wear my dresses and be way more comfortable.

Names:
We have gotten asked a lot about names. We have a SMALL list of names. Yes, we're keeping them HUSH HUSH right now....sorry. We go back and forth every now and then with names and if we both agree then put it on the list. Once we find out the gender we will go from there. It's so nice to keep something private between my husband and I during the time.

Christmas Eve
Baby was spoiled by Grandma
Do I have a feeling of what were having:
I get asked about this a lot! I have never experienced this before so I have no idea. I can tell you I have dreams about the baby and there are days when I feel stronger about the gender then other days, but we will see NEXT MONTH!

Baby B just had his/her first plane ride to Pittsburgh last weekend! I did surprisingly well. I didn't know what to expect on the plane but all was well. The weekend was jam packed with Beachbody events and long days. Exhaustion caught up to me all last week and was able to sleep in this morning, FINALLY.

Baby popped out!
We are feeling great and back to normal. My workouts have been great so I have decided I am going to start Insanity Max 30 TOMORROW! I will be doing the modifier so it's not so hard on my body and also altering some of the ab movements as well. It's so important to me to stick with my workouts and nutrition while pregnant. Don't get my wrong, the Baked Lays BBQ were my best friend last week and delicious. I could feel the aftereffects of those though and needed to get back on track. You can follow my Max 30 journey in the upcoming weekly posts I will be doing.

Week 16

Week 17
Our next doctor appointment is February 9th where we will HOPEFULLY get a good view of the gender. We will be finding out with our families later in the month, so we are looking forward to that!

Time is going by so fast. i can't believe in a couple of weeks we will be half way through with the pregnancy, but we are so excited to meet him or her.

As always, thanks for following my journey!

XOXO,
SJB

What is Insanity MAX 30?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and also got some good Cyber Monday deals!  Speaking of deals, did you know that Shaun T, creator of programs like Hip Hop Abs, Insanity, T25, etc)  is coming out with a NEW fitness program?  It's called Insanity Max 30 and is going to be the next crazy insane fitness program that will give you unbelievable results!  So, I am loving every minute of these newer Beachbody fitness programs that are continually being released because they have been about 30 minutes or less!  Surely you can block out 30 minutes of your day, right?

Insanity Max 30 is all about pushing yourself to the limit.  It is taking home fitness programs to the EXTREME next level in just 30 minutes a day!  This is definitely a hardcore workout that will take dedication, motivation, and solid effort.  It is almost like a mental game of how far you can push yourself before you MAX OUT!

I am super excited for this workout to come out and will be running an exclusive Insanity Max 30 test group beginning Monday, December 8th.

So, what exactly IS Insanity Max 30?  Let me tell you a little about it so you can decide if you think it would be a good fit for you.

Who is Insanity Max 30 for?

Before you rule out this program due to it's intensity, let me start by saying that there is a low-impact modifier in every workout.  The program actually comes with with a special feature so that the modifier stays on the screen at all times!  For those of you who have followed a modifier in other programs, you have probably run in to the issue of not being able to see exactly how to modify a move until several seconds in to a specific exercise. This will not be a problem with Max 30.  Setting the option and having the modifier on the screen at all times will make it easier to see and easier to follow.

While there is no denying that this is an intense workout, a beginner who is looking to really jump start their fitness journey using an intense workout, or someone who is looking to take their fitness to the next level, would be a perfect candidate for Insanity Max 30.  When it comes down to it, it's not about being in great shape to handle the workout, it's about showing up every day and pushing yourself to YOUR max.

What does it mean to "Max Out?"

The idea of "maxing out" isn't actually bad.  That's the point!  What you do is you go as hard as you can for as long as you can until you need a break, or until you MAX OUT!  Then, you write down your time, take your break, and jump back in! If you stick with the program and stay committed to your results, then you will notice that your max out time increases each week.

In the Tabata workouts you do 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off power moves.  During month two, those intervals increase to 45 seconds on and 15 seconds off.

During month one, there are 2 cardio workouts, two strength workouts, and the Max 30 Friday Fight.

How can you get it?

Insanity Max 30 will be released on December 9th; however, you will be able to get it through me a week earlier, which is THIS TUESDAY, December 2nd!!  If you don't already have a coach, you can sign up for a free membership (so that I am your coach) HERE!

Exclusive Insanity Max 30 Test Group:
December 8th will begin an exclusive Insanity Max 30 Test Group.  If you are interested in joining and/or getting more info, please email me.  There will be limited availability within the group and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Requirements of the Challenge Group:
  • Insanity Max 30 Challenge Pack - includes the Base Kit (explained above), a one month supply of Shakeology, discounted shipping, and me as your coach!   The challenge pack will be a December promotion, plus it has everything you need to get started!

The Test group will include complete guidance, support, motivation, and accountability through the duration of the 60 day program.  I will incorporate weekly meal planning, post my personal meal plans, and everyone will replace one meal per day with Shakeology.   Truthfully, it is perfect timing to have Shakeology.  At this time of year we are tempted with lots of sweets.  Shakeology is a nutritionally dense meal replacement that provides you with your daily dose of nutrients.  When doing a workout such as Insanity Max 30, your body will need to be replenished with nutrients for recovery. Shakeology also has the proper carb to protein ratio which will help keep you feeling fuller, longer. There are all kinds of yummy "treat" recipes that you can make that will help you stay on track through the holiday season too!

So, what do you say?  Are you in?!  As your coach, I will not only be going through the program WITH you, but I will provide you with the support to stick with it and get GREAT results!  It will not become another fitness program that collects dust!

Be sure to email me for more information and/or to join the exclusive test group!

In addition, feel free to send me a Facebook Friend Request so that you can see some great tips, motivation, recipes, and meal plans that I share throughout the week!

One hot MAMA

Who would've known, decades apart we would reconnect on Facebook over health & fitness. I met Ashley in elementary school. We were good friends, I remember spending the night over at her house, watching movies all night long. She moved out of state and we lost touch. Not long ago, we reconnected on Facebook and was in AWE over her progress with her on going transformation. As a Beachbody coach, I HAD to reach out to her and congratulate her on her ongoing success and LIFESTYLE change.

Her story begins as a mother to a young & energetic 4 year old little girl and a wife to a Military police officer. She tried the diets and those didn't give her results she was looking for. About 6 months ago, she found out she has Hypothyroidism. She had been treating that and then committed herself to a regular exercise & eating schedule. After working her tail off during her workouts & eating healthier then what she was before, she completed her Insanity workouts and her stats tell her story.

Before I started, my clothes were awful. Nothing fit me. My closet was full of clothes yet I had nothing to wear because I was too big. Unless I HAD to go out, it was baggy shirts and yoga pants. If I forced to go anywhere, I wore my old maternity pants. 3 years after my daughter was born, I still had to squeeze into my maternity pants.

The final straw- We discovered my hypothyroidism in an odd way. After a struggle with fertility we discovered the root of the problem. My thyroid. The extra weight wasn't doing anything to help matters. That did me in.  In my mind, it was one thing to know my pants didn't fit me anymore, it was another that there was something going on in my body I had no control over. That's when I realized I needed take control of the things I could do something about. It was upsetting. It all hit me, I didn't want to leave the house, avoided social functions I would see people I knew or Adam's friend. I didn't want anyone to see what I had turned into. I used to be the life of party, excited to see people, I had all the confidence in the world. It was all gone. That was it. I knew just taking a brisk walk would not help me, I needed something extreme. What is more extreme than Insanity?

Now, I feel like a normal person again. The old Ashley! I can fit in my old clothes again, I can bend over without my stomach getting my way (yes.. I went there lol), I can go up and down my stairs without getting winded. It feels good!

In 6 months,  I see us all eating better and having more energy. I always used the excuse of "I have a kid I don't have time to work out".. Not true. My little lady sat on there every single day while I worked out. Watched me, sometimes got up to do a few moves.. on the days I would complain I didn't feel like working out because I had no energy. Savannah would say to me "Oh you don't have energy Mommy? You need Bo on the Go to give you energy? Ill get her" (its a kids tv show about running to give the girl, Bo, energy.). She kept me motivated to keep going. I also think her watching me push through all these weeks, has shown her how important it is to take care of yourself.

What a great inspiration Ashley has become to not only friends and her Facebook world, but also her family. The time an effort she has put into her health & fitness has changed her life forever.

I am so happy to be able to share Ashley's story here. I hope that her story inspires others out there that are struggling with the same things Ashley once was.

You see results on the infomercials and on the internet but you never REALLY know if it's going to work. You are afraid to invest the money because you don't want it to be another thing that just sits on your shelf that collects dust.  I have to say that the factor that influences whether it collects dust or not has always been the SUPPORT!  Having that system of individuals to keep you accountable to the food you are eating, the workouts and lift you up when you have a bad day is irreplaceable. If you would like results like Ashley's, I have a couple of spots left for my next challenge group. Message me for details & let's reach your GOALS.
