Progress update Insanity Max 30: Week 2 & 3

Whew- boy am I glad Superbowl is OVER WITH. I totally over ate and felt miserable last Monday. I know I am not the only one!  I am so excited to be almost done with the first month of Max 30. These past 2 weeks have been a bit of a struggle with wanting to sleep in at least one day and make up on the weekend. Week 2 that make up didn't happen but did with week 3. Week 4 will be different because I will be getting up during the week and getting all my workouts done during the week and saving the weekend to relax.

I have LOVED this program. I lost some of my upper body strength when I stopped Body Beast and am gaining that back and can tell in the past 2 weeks with my push ups. Once again, I am modifying the moves and substituting any abs workouts for more pushups or squats. These workouts are tough but I am determined to do what I can without pushing myself too hard. My "max out" times are getting better. On some of the workouts, I have gained minutes. I couldn't believe it!  I can not wait to do this program to the MAX once baby comes and I am cleared to workout.
Week 2 Meal Plan
For the nutrition aspect of it, I am following it as much as I can. I could be doing better.  Just looking to get what I need in each day. I have gained weight so I will be going to increase the containers from the under 150 to over 150 starting next week.

As you can see I am a creature of habit and love having the same breakfast and snacks each week. I always tell people to find something you love that makes you fee great, and you won't even notice you have it every day.  Staying on track during the work week has been so hard because we have the infamous candy bowl which I sit near. Having my Shakeology for lunch has really curbed my sweet tooth cravings I usually get in the afternoons. If I feel other ones coming on, I just pop sugar free gum in my mouth and I will be good.

Week 3 Meal Plan

As the past 2 weeks have ended, and week 4 begins, I am ready to take it on with better nutrition & workouts Monday through Friday and weekends to relax! Giving myself major props for sticking with this at 20 weeks pregnant! Never would I have imagined I would be doing this type of program, this far into my pregnancy and feeling AMAZING!!!

See ya next week!

The 21 Day Fix Extreme...What is it?

The 21 Day Fix has been a KILLER nutrition and fitness program!!  Have you heard of it?  Have you completed it?  Well, last year at this time, the 21 Day Fix launched and it was SO popular that it sold out in record breaking time. WHY??  Because the 21 Day Fix brought us something that so many of us need...SIMPLE and easy to follow nutrition plan, short and effective 30 minute workouts that ANYONE can do, and proportioned containers to aid in your nutrition to make YOU successful!

So, it has now been a year since the launch of the 21 Day Fix...so what's next?  None other than the 21 Day Fix Extreme!!  Yep, Autumn is back with yet another 21 Day Fix inspired program...but this time it's taking it to the next level.  This is her personal tips and nutrition that she uses to get ready for competition!  So you're learning from the best!!

What is 21 Day Fix EXTREME?

In the original 21 Day Fix, this was designed to make losing weight a simple process that everyone could understand...it made it possible for you to NEVER need to "Diet" again.  It gave simple, easy to follow way of eating, one that you can use the rest of your life!  This is why it became America's #1 fitness and nutrition program.  NOW, you can get seriously shredded in the shortest time possible with the 21 Day Fix EXTREME, created by Autumn Calabrese.  This is a breakthrough 21-Day fitness and nutrition program that combines simple portion control, clean eating and EXTREME 30-minute workouts to deliver a body that is heard, lean and defined.

It builds off the basics of 21 Day Fix and takes it to the next level.  Combine no-nonsense portion control with steady state aerobics, resistance training and explosive power moves.  The 21 Day Fix EXTREME is a complete functional fitness program that targets every muscle in the body to help you torch calories while creating a leaner, stronger and more functional physique.

Who should buy the 21 Day Fix Extreme?
The 21 Day Fix Extreme is ideal for those with a dramatic short-term weight loss deadline--such as an upcoming vacation, photo shoot, or other big event.  It's an excellent next step for 21 Day Fix graduates ready for a new challenge or graduates of other extreme programs like P90X, Insanity, Insanity Max:30, and Focus T25.  Fix Extreme is also great for those who don't have much weight to lose, but want to get shredded and see abs; those with a "no BS" attitude toward workouts and nutrition; or anyone who doesn't want to count calories, weigh their food, or follow complicated recipes.

What are the workouts?

  • Plyo Fix Extreme- An explosive lower-body workout that uses jumping and resistance to torch calories and sculpt muscles.
  • Upper Fix Extreme- By alternating opposing muscle groups, this no-rest upper-body workout will shred the chest, back, shoulders, and arms.
  • Pilates Fix Extreme- Using a resistance band for every exercise, this intense mat workout works the entire body, placing emphasis on the core.
  • Lower Fix Extreme- Glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves will get stronger, leaner, and more defined with 30 minutes of challenging resistance work.
  • Cardio Fix Extreme- Combining weighted cardio moves with traditional metabolic training intervals keeps the heart rate soaring.
  • Dirty 30 Extreme- Using only seven compound moves focusing on multiple body parts at a time, this workout will burn extra calories while defining muscles. Get down and dirty, and get it done.
  • Yoga Fix Extreme- A fast-paced flow yoga class, combining strength, balance, flexibility, and power.
  • Power Strength Extreme (Deluxe Kit Only)- Based on functional movement patterns, these nine total-body exercises will change the way the body moves, increasing strength, endurance, and power.
  • ABC Extreme (Deluxe Kit Only)- A 30-minute workout that targets common problem areas by pushing abs, butt, and cardio to the extreme. It'll get that competition body ready for the stage.
  • The Fix Challenge (Bonus DVD)- Keep things interesting and burn off calories with this quick resistance workout!

What Equipment is Required?

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT- Resistance band(s) or Weights (not included in Base kit)
RECCOMENDED EQUIPMENT -Yoga Mat or Beachbody Core Comfort Mat are helpful but not required.

What about the Nutrition?
Let's face it...this is probably a sore spot for many people...the 21 Day Fix allowed "cheats" like wine or chocolate.  However, this is an EXTREME program promised to give you EXTREME results if you commit to it ALL, nutrition and fitness!  So, in order to bring Extreme results, you need Extreme nutrition.  This is a 100% clean eating plan for the FULL 21 days!  There are options for you throughout the program (like eating out) however there are detailed guidelines.  Nutrition is KEY to your success!!!

You will also get the color-coded containers with your program!!!

So are YOU ready to be the FIRST to try the
21 Day Fix Extreme?

It is YOUR turn to get EXTREME results...are you ready??  I will be hosting a 21 Day Fix EXTREME Test Group!  This will be a group designed to give you the support, accountability and motivation you need to propel you to reaching your extreme results!  You will not be at this alone, I will be there every step of the way for YOU to succeed!

Does this sound like something you would like to do?  If so, complete this application to be considered for a spot in my Exclusive Test Group!

Are you ready to go?  The 21 Day Fix Extreme is set to launch on February 2, 2015.  If you email me, I will give you all the details on the group and keep you up to date on all the information you need to know in order to get your copy ASAP!  What are you waiting for??  If you start NOW, then you will have plenty of time to reach your health and fitness goals before the start of Summer...think of it as your jumpstart to your bikini-wearing days!  Let me help you get in the best shape of your life!

LET'S DO THIS!

Weeks 10-16 PLUS our 2nd & 3rd Dr appointment

We have FINALLY crossed into the 2nd trimester!  WHOOP! I can definitely tell you I am starting to get the hang of this pregnancy thing. I can not believe how fast this is going. It makes me sad honestly. Even though, I have vocally been unsure on every feeling my body given me and a little weirded out by it, I love being pregnant. I have embraced it and still can't believe this is happening.

Guess who's eating for 2?!
Well, we have officially told everyone. We finished up telling out families on Thanksgiving. my husband didn't want to do anything crazy to tell his family. However, I was dying to do something fun  for one of them so it was mine. lol.

10 weeks on Thanksgiving
The feeling of being sick at night has slowly suppressed over the weeks and I have be learning what I can and CAN NOT eat right before bed.

Cravings: I am still having a bowl of cereal every morning before I workout. Besides that, no huge cravings.
Get that away from me: I tried my favoriate  Orange chicken and fried rice from Trader Joe's and wanted nothing to do with it :( . I didn't try no more then 2 bites because I don't want to hate it when i go to try in again.

2nd doctor appointment: December 8, 2014:
Appointment went well. We met with a practitioner in the office that gave us a lot baby information. A bit overwhelming but we've had some time to look over it and digest it.  The practitioner had a little trouble finding the heartbeat so we had another ultrasound and everything was AMAZING. Heartbeat was 173.

Auntie Kelly gave Baby B some new outfits.
3rd doctor appointment: January 5, 2014:
The doctor had no problem finding the heart beat. Strong at 150. He also said the little ruffles in the sound of the ultrasound meant that baby was kicking. Gosh, I didn't know my heart could grow much bigger. I am so in love with this little one already!

Well we've made it through the Holidays with little exhaustion but it was VERY overwhelming for me this year. We are so busy on Christmas Eve and Day. I couldn't wait for Christmas Night to spend with just Nick and I after all the craziness. With my hormones going crazy, my anxiety through the roof, wrapping paper being thrown every direction. It sad to say this because I am not normally like this at all, but I was ready for this Holiday season to be over with.

This sums up my shopping trips.
Growing belly....
Nothing is more frustrating then your clothes not fitting and you can not find anything when you go shopping. I am still rocking the hair tie on my button of my pants. Last week, it started to get comfortable, so I have started to look for jeans. I don't have many winter clothes to begin with, so with a growing baby in my belly, is not making this any easier. I can not wait until its warmer out so I can wear my dresses and be way more comfortable.

Names:
We have gotten asked a lot about names. We have a SMALL list of names. Yes, we're keeping them HUSH HUSH right now....sorry. We go back and forth every now and then with names and if we both agree then put it on the list. Once we find out the gender we will go from there. It's so nice to keep something private between my husband and I during the time.

Christmas Eve
Baby was spoiled by Grandma
Do I have a feeling of what were having:
I get asked about this a lot! I have never experienced this before so I have no idea. I can tell you I have dreams about the baby and there are days when I feel stronger about the gender then other days, but we will see NEXT MONTH!

Baby B just had his/her first plane ride to Pittsburgh last weekend! I did surprisingly well. I didn't know what to expect on the plane but all was well. The weekend was jam packed with Beachbody events and long days. Exhaustion caught up to me all last week and was able to sleep in this morning, FINALLY.

Baby popped out!
We are feeling great and back to normal. My workouts have been great so I have decided I am going to start Insanity Max 30 TOMORROW! I will be doing the modifier so it's not so hard on my body and also altering some of the ab movements as well. It's so important to me to stick with my workouts and nutrition while pregnant. Don't get my wrong, the Baked Lays BBQ were my best friend last week and delicious. I could feel the aftereffects of those though and needed to get back on track. You can follow my Max 30 journey in the upcoming weekly posts I will be doing.

Week 16

Week 17
Our next doctor appointment is February 9th where we will HOPEFULLY get a good view of the gender. We will be finding out with our families later in the month, so we are looking forward to that!

Time is going by so fast. i can't believe in a couple of weeks we will be half way through with the pregnancy, but we are so excited to meet him or her.

As always, thanks for following my journey!

XOXO,
SJB

P90X3 is COMPLETED!!!

90 day Transformation
I never thought I would say I have completed a P90X program....EVER. It's been sometime since I posted my weekly update. I got lost in the craziness of life and switching jobs which then put me at studying for a state licensing test for a couple of weeks, but I am BACK with my weekly updates!
I could not be happier with my first time with P90X. I LOVED it. My normal workout time is 5 AM, take a shot of E & E and start my workout with Tony Horton. Who loves to workout that early? NOT me. It took sometime to adjust but the E & E definitely helped. Tony's humor made it easier to finish the workouts as well.

SO.... I had a goal of being able to touch my toes by the end of the program and unfortunately that didn't happen, but I am still working on it. Instead, I have learned to master "The Crow". Who would've thought? NOT THIS GIRL. When I started this program I had ZERO upper body strength so to see this picture, BLOWS MY MIND.

The way my body has changed, feels amazing. I have never felt this straight before. These programs really do work!

The Crow (PROUD MOMENT)
I was involved in an accountability group throughout this program and the motivation from other challengers and coaches is what helped me. The time & dedication I put into it, is got me these results. I often see other people failing the "at home" workouts because they don't have the accountability and support  from a coach. Of course there were morning when my alarm when off at 5 AM and I didn't want to get up. There were days I hit the snooze because I was exhausted from studying until midnight the night before. I simply didn't want to do it. I still got up and did it. Exhaustion did set in about my 10-11th week. Starting my new job & studying all those hours, lack of sleep, I needed to sleep in and get those extra hours. I just came home from work and pushed play then. Staying on track is SO important. If not, you will fall of and not want to get back on, yes I have been there.
Following the guidelines of the mal plan provided was easy to adjust to. It was similar to what I was working with before from T25. Without the meal planning & prep, clean eating, and of course Shakeology, I would not have received the results I did.

Here are the numbers I am so happy to share!

Chest: 31.5
Left arm: 11
Right arm: 11
Waist: 26.5
Hips:38.5

I am over the moon about those numbers. I had some LBS put on throughout the program and inches as well. When I went into X3 I had no intentions of trying to loose weight, I just wanted to tone up. I got the best of both worlds now :).

If your thinking about this program, I highly recommend it if your looking to not loose weight, yet tone or bulk up. I did get my feet wet again with running, so I did add that into the mix a few times.

Next program, 21 DAY FIX!  Beachbody's newest program. I am excited to join my challengers with this program. Even greater results will be coming soon!

P90X3: Week 6: progress update

WOW!!! I can't believe we're already almost done with BLOCK 2 of this program. I am loving this program!  This is my first Tony Horton program and his humor is what gets me through these workouts. I am ready to rock WEEK 7!

So with all the hype of the new 21 day fix, I have officially ordered my program. I will not be starting it until I am done with P90X3.

Workouts for week 6:

Monday: Triometrics
Tuesday: The Warrior
Wednesday: X3 Yoga
Thursday: MMX
Friday: Incinerator
Saturday: CVX
Sunday: Rest or Dynamix

I have been doubling up my workouts some days and giving myself 2 rest days due to me being so exhausted. I will double Yoga & Dynamix with another program so I am not over working my muscles.

I am out!
